SMC FAN CONTROL MACBOOK PRO 2011 MAC
My friends all have the same mac but they don't even make a sound. When playing games (minecraft, League of legends), I always have this awful fan noise running at 6200Rpm. My mac has been really hot and noisy these days. This is my first time signing up for Macrumors so just bear with me.

I could'nt hear the fans before the program. Unplug the power, then shut down your Mac. I deleted the program but the fans stay on, I can here them running. Hi all, I downloaded the smc fan control 2.2.2, and I can't control the fan speeds at all, the fans are stuck on 3600 rpm all the time even when I slide the bar over to the max end, the fans stay at 3600 rpm. Next comes the bar showing the speed of the fan. A user can adjust the speed of any fan from this menu by selecting it. These fans are either related with HDD or CPU. There are two or three different kinds of fans in the MAC. Next option is the Fan which may be of any kind. The first is the menu which the user has to click to select. To change fan-speeds you must have admin privileges. However in order not to damage your machine, FanControl will not let you set the minimum speed to a rate under Apple's defaults. So you can increase your minimum fan speed in order to make your Mac run cooler.
SmcFanControl lets you set the minimum speed of the built-in fans.
